New York Fashion Week 2017 Autumn/Winter 2017 Ready-to-Wear (Images)
Last Thursday New York Fashion Week wrapped up for the Autumn/Winter 2017 season. We knew it would an extra interesting one considering it was happening in post-election New York City. Of course, we can say we weren’t disappointed. Several designers took this opportunity to express their feelings about the current state of events in their collections. Politics aside this season also saw the continuation from last season of designers like Christian Siriano, Michael Kors, Becca McCharen-Tran of Chromat had noteworthy plus size models walk in the shows. It’s that time of year again. One of our favorite runway shows during New York Fashion Week is Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection. We really love fashion for a cause. According to Yahoo! Finance this year’s runway show features two heart disease survivors for the 1st time ever. Odilia Cristabel Flores from New York City, a Senior Manager in Macy’s Social Compliance Department, and AHA Real Woman Nicole Hardy from Scarborough, Maine are two the lovely ladies who will be strutting down the catwalk alongside this year’s celebrities. The 2017 Face of Torrid Winner Announced (Images)
Back in October, we reported that Torrid narrowed down the finalists to four. Earlier today the winner of 2017 Face of Torrid was announced. Over 10,000 ladies auditioned, but there could be only one winner. 24-year-old Uruguay-born New Jersey resident Maria Gimena was declared this year’s winner. According to People, Gimena entered the competition after encouragement from a co-worker. Her prize includes a Torrid modeling contract, wardrobe, and $1,000 gift card. Congratulations to Maria and to all the lovely ladies who entered.
