We tend to say this more often than we like. However, this doesn’t have to be the case with a few simple solutions. Before you head out to your nearest boutique or shopping mall allow me to give you some helpful tips to work with your current wardrobe. Let’s get started with the first option.
Look in your closet
This sounds simple enough, but, believe it or not, many people really do this. The general rule of thumb is to get rid of something you haven’t worn in over a year. If you chose to this there are plenty of options you can proceed with. Donating items to your local Goodwill is one. For your favorite shirt that doesn’t quite fit you can repurpose it as another item (pillows, purse &etc.) by taking the DIY route. On the other hand, you can reorganize your closet so you can see what you have. Earlier this year I did this to my own closet by arranging by color & let tell you it has made finding outfits so much easier.
Buy investment pieces
Now that you know what you actually have in your wardrobe you can now add pieces. Look for clothes that can be worn with items you already have. For instance, buy shirts and blouses that will compliment your favorite pair of pants or etc. This not only adds to wardrobe but gives you options when you can’t seem to figure out what to wear.
Brainstorm new outfit ideas
With the right items in your wardrobe, you can make it work for you. Mix new items with things you already own. Also, think about new outfit ideas from what you own already. You can pair a blazer with a cute blouse and jeans for a business casual look or nix the blazer for a more casual look.
These are just some of the ideas that can help you make the most out of your clothes. Remember it’s all about making your clothes work for you. They showcase your personality, personal style and show much more. Hopefully, these tips will help you the next time you are facing an outfit predicament.
