In a much needed “distraction” from the current political situation currently going in Brazil São Paulo Fashion Week took place this past week. In its 41st edition, São Paulo Fashion Week had designers showcased the best of the Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear collections. Over the five-day event, there was a variety of swimwear, casual and formal offerings. It was so many collections to choose from, but we were able to narrow it down to some of our choices of collections. Continue below to see if your favorite collections made into our post.
Day 1 (4/25/16)

Magic was the center of this collection seeking inspiration from Illusionist Harry Houdini.
Fraga transported the audience on his trip to Africa especially Mozambique, refugees from around the world by communicating this throughout his Summer 2017 collection.
Day 2 (4/26/16)
Vix Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear
This collection combines live music and swimwear to centered on the vacation vibe of Brazil. My favorite pieces are the jumpsuit options.
Patbo Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear
It was all about location for designer Patricia Bonaldi who fused Brazil and colors from the Brazilian flag for her collection. I also picked on a tropical island vibe with the use of prints.
Day 3 (4/27/16)
80’s, Pop Art, street style, graphics are just some of the design notes for this collection. Prints and stripes are very dominating, but not overpowering for several looks.
The theme for this collection was time with large clocks as the background. Going deeper into the theme Capeto states that time is very dear to her. Her slower designing process is the complete opposite of fast fashion.
Day 4 (4/28/16)
Gloria Coelho Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear
The title for this collection “The Garden in Asymmetrical Sea.” It is designed with the intelligent woman in mind according to the designer. Each design has its own unique shapes due the cutouts on several of the looks.
Day 5 (4/29/16)
Wagner Kallieno Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear
It was about the eighties and the movie Flashdance particularly the protagonist Alex portrayed by Jennifer Beals as a nod from the designer to his wife. Lurex, Lamés, Suede, and Lycra are some of the fabrics that were chosen for the designs. I really enjoyed the color palette especially the coral and turquoise.
