One of the biggest night in fashion will take place next Monday. The 2017 Met Gala is officially one week away. It just happens to be one of my personal favorite fashion events of the year. Here is a little more about this year’s gala.

As it was announced last October this year’s theme is Comme des Garçons’s Rei Kawakubo. According to PopSugar, Kawakubo is the second living designer to be honored at the annual exhibit, following Yves Saint Laurent in 1983. This year’s co-chairs are New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady and Supermodel Gisele Bündchen. The annual fundraiser gala will mark the opening of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Spring 2017 exhibition, Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between starting May 4th and going thru September 4th.
For more information on the exhibit visit the Met on their website.
Rei Kawakubo founded Comme des Garçons Co. Ltd in Tokyo in 1973.
