Our latest exclusive interview provided us a chance to talk with Thibault Boullenger, founder of Lenger. Keep reading to find out more about their French luxury minimalist sneakers & how you can purchase a pair.

1. Can you tell the readers more about yourself & Lenger?

TB: I founded Lenger four years ago while living in New York with the idea of creating essential and high-quality objects with a minimalist approach at a fair price. I did it after work in order to first discover the fashion industry. This year, I moved back to Paris, my hometown, and felt – along with the small team working at Lenger – that we could push it further with this big project… the sneakers.

 2. Your sneakers are minimalist and have monochromatic colors. What influenced this design decision? Also, what separates them from similar sneakers already on the market?

TB: We’re very inspired by Scandinavian and French fashion. Simple and minimalist clothing can be worn with many different outfits and this is why we think it’s super cool. We really hid almost all the stitches and I don’t know any other brand that pushed minimalism to this extent!

3. Currently, Lenger has a pre-order launched via Kickstarter. Why Kickstarter?

TB: Kickstarter is the opportunity for us to try something new. Pre-orders allow us to know if you’ll like our products before we produce them (not after!) and not have stock or unsold items. This reduces risks on our side and thus the price on yours.!

 4. Who would you say is your target customer?

TB: The target customer is anyone who would like to own a pair of elegant sneakers, probably someone in their 20-30s.
